This course is designed to provide instruction on how to effectively operate and manage a child day care program. Emphasis will be placed on stages of child development for children birth to five years of age. Course will also center on promoting the health and safety of children, program development, record keeping and maintaining a safe physical environment for children to grow and learn. Issues of child abuse, shaken baby syndrome and sudden infant death syndrome will be addressed. Nutrition and obesity prevention, daily health checklist, cleaning and sanitizing during diapering and feeding, supervision and communicating with families are some of the topics that will be covered.
