(7.50 Hours)

Description

Course ID 57960
As we continue the journey of conscious behavior management practices that focus on building skills, relationships and connections; we must evaluate the meaning of behaviors. The field of early child care is ever changing and the past year has brought new strategies and fresh knowledge to the arena. This all day training event will dive deeper into understanding how we react to daily challenges, behavior as a sign of communication, and a host of new strategies that you can put into place to build social and emotional skills. Combining a mix of philosophies is always the best way to meet the needs of all children. The training will share concepts of Conscious Discipline®, The Pyramid Model, and Flip It! in an effort to broaden your scope of knowledge while giving you more diversity in how you manage behavior in your program. In addition, parent/program relationships will be discussed as part of managing challenges at various levels. Strengthening partnerships with families affords you the ability to notice stress in family situations. Providing resources, community connections, and prevention of escalated challenges can assist with keeping children safe and provide needed supports for families experiencing stress. Often times adults do not intend to lash out at children, but the pressures of the day or challenges of life become overwhelming to the point that they begin to lose control. How can you help and what community supports are available.
