Description
This training provides professional development on the “OCFS” (Office of Children and Family Services) 9 regulatory topic areas. The childcare provider will strengthen his/her skills in the areas of child development, health and safety, and program management. Students will learn how to create and follow the best practices in assisting and answering each child’s needs by following the statutes and regulations of the New York state, alongside safety and security procedures which includes communication with parents and staff. Additionally, they will learn to provide instruction on child abuse and maltreatment identification, statutes and regulation pertaining to child abuse and maltreatment, diagnosis of shaken baby syndrome, and nutrition and health needs of infants and children. Furthermore, under program development they will be able to create a system and increase their management skills in business record maintenance. This training will be lectured based, with group discussions, videos, class assignments and hands-on activities.
